Kids Yoga Sign Up Form (Complete and return to the NDAC Front Desk)
Yoga is a discipline that can lead kids on the path toward a calm and balanced mind, as well as help them build a strong and flexible body. In our Kids Yoga classes, we practice fun-filled yoga poses and breathing exercises to promote:
Physical strength and flexibility
Concentration, focus, and attention
Inner strength and body awareness
Confidence and self-esteem
Relaxation and self-control
A feeling of well-being and respect for others
Love for one’s self, inside and out.
In these fun classes, children play in yoga by imitating animals and nature, by using creative expression, games, music, and storytelling.
Kids Yoga 1 (Ages 4-6) 4:00 – 4:30
This playful class encourages self-expression through group poses, playful games, and practicing simple yoga poses to increase flexibility and exercise social skills. The kids will play with the yoga activities to encourage energy release and to strengthen their bodies. Additionally children will learn how to focus through breathing and begin to learn how to access internal tools to relax. This class is ideal for our younger yogis or that have little to no yoga background. This class is ideal for those that are eager to learn poses and also enjoy energy releasing games. Class is 30 minutes. Recommended age is 4-6 years of age. Please feel free to talk with Sam about the best class fit!
Kids Yoga 2 (Ages 7-10) 4:35 – 5:15
Improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun postures, some partner poses, breathing, and basic anatomy. This class is ideal for kids who have a little yoga background and can feel successful holding poses and practicing guided final relaxation. Class is 40 minutes. Recommended age is 7-10. Please feel free to talk with Sam about the best class fit!
6 week sessions begin Sept 2, 2012 and end on Oct 7, 2012!
Session cost for Kids Yoga is $30.00; ($40.00 for nonmembers) to be paid upon sign-up.

*Parents: While it is very important to us that everyone feels comfortable, we also encourage you to take advantage of the class time for yourselves rather than stay in the yoga room. We have a wonderful lobby area with tables, tvs, and refreshments that offers a great place to catch up on anything you may need to! This set up allows the acquaintance between the child and the instructor to develop and a group dynamic to be established effectively. Additionally we will be adding activities that will require us to utilize the entire yoga room! At 3 weeks and 6 weeks of sessions we will invite parents to join us in the last 5-10 minutes of class to demonstrate some of the wonderful tools we have learned in Kids Yoga!
